Reblocking, also called restumping, is the replacement of old existing stumps (usually wooden) with new durable concrete stumps.Timber stumps have traditionally been used as the support for weatherboard homes, brick veneer homes and for the floors only in a solid brick house.
Underpinning is the process of strengthening and stabilizing the foundation of a solid brick or brick veneer home, which is showing signs of structural movement, and is an area in which Reblocking & Underpinning solutions have been specializing for over forty years.
Your home may already have concrete stumps or brick piers, and have become out of level. This can be remedied by raising the house and lifting to level, and packing the stumps or piers. This is commonly known as a ?lift-and-pack? or ?jack-and-pack?.
Any damaged subfloor timber can be replaced, we use metal ant cap. We prefer to use Kordon termite barrier, a quality product which provides a damp-proof barrier as well as termite protection.
